John Williams

                               Music Composers



  As mentioned in the earlier blog that there are few composers that have kept the tradition of western classical music and symphonies going on especially in the background score of the movies one such Legendary composer is John Williams. John Williams is said to be the master of adding music on the moving images ! He has given some very iconic scores to the world.
John Williams is living legend with a record of most nominated person in academy awards ! With more than 50 nominations in his account he has won 5 academy awards ,24 Grammy awards  and four Golden Globe awards !!

John Williams (February 8, 1932) is an Pianist,conductor and a music composer. He retained his love for western classical music and symphonies in every film he has scored. Before that John Williams used to work as Orchestrator and also as a studio pianist for top composers of that era .Soon he did pilot episode for some television series. And gradually he got into films. His uniqueness of scoring in jazz and heavy orchestration gained some notice in Hollywood and he bagged his first nomination of academy award for "valley of the dolls "
And later he won his academy award for  "Fiddler of the roof ". He gave the world some iconic scores like the main theme of superman, Harry Potter series (first three instalment) and many others. Star Wars scores is considered to be one of the greatest scores with heavy orchestration and brassy sound. John Williams was highly acknowledged for the score. Williams delivered a grand symphonic score in the style of Hollywood's swashbucklers of the 1930's and 1940's. The soundtrack remains the best-selling non-pop record of all-time - and Williams won another Oscar for Best Original Score.


 John Williams - Steven Spielberg  


Sugarland is the score that marked the start of Williams’ long collaboration with Spielberg, and set the foundations for his career as one of the most respected composers of 
that era. The second collaboration with Spielberg was Jaws which won him academy award . It was highly acknowledged and praised Williams especially for the shark theme which had  3 notes played by tuba player I.e E-F F-F# these notes created the exact amount of suspense which was needed and created a magic ! Isn't he a genius?
Later on this long collaboration continued and gathered great accolades for the films and score some of the iconic scores of Williams with Spielberg are Jurrasic Park ,Indiana Jones , Schindlers list , Extra Terrestrial, Raiders of lost ark , Hook , Catch me if you can , Saving private Ryan , Lincoln .
Williams also scored for animated film of Spielberg named as Adventures of Tin Tin.

When Williams first saw the movie , the composer told the director "You need a better composer than I am for this film.' Spielberg replied, 'I know. But they're all dead!' 
Williams won his fifth academy award for the score and is considered to be one of the best score of the century! 
The main theme of the film is so simple and touching that it makes people cry !
